FRAUD SPIKES IN RECESSION

Time/CNN recently postulated that \"we are in a boom time for scams.\" Among the reasons cited were that middle management \"which are there to control misconduct or fraud\' have been eroded or removed. \"Also the slump may prompt fraudsters to rationalize their behavior.\" A silver lining may be that other employees, concerned with their positions blow the whistle on anyone that threatens their position.
